The AnyForm Technologies Background
The world of thermoplastics additive manufacturing and 3D printing promised amazing possibilities. We have worked hard to make these possibilities come true.
AnyForm Technologies Background
AnyForm Technologies was founded in 2024. But the technology that it brings to
North America has an earlier beginning, in the minds of an international group of highly successful
inventors, entrepreneurs and investors around 2017.. As industrialists, they were actively
researching deep tech activities that would be of value to industry and economies locally and
globally.
They examined the problems of modern day manufacturing and found that supply chains were at or near
the top of the list. This was even before the pandemic made this situation much worse.
Having isolated supply chains as a major manufacturing problem, they began to look for solutions.
How can you reverse the trend of globalization and move in the direction of localization – rather
than having parts made in some other, remote part of the world, how can this work be brought home?
limitations of additive manufacturing
This led them quite naturally to additive manufacturing. With additive manufacturing, particularly of the kind that can work with universally available raw materials, the entire long haul mentality can be changed. The supply chain can be greatly shortened. This improves efficiency, reduces costs and greatly speeds time of production. Instead of waiting six weeks for a part to be made in Asia and then shipped back to the US, for example, the manufacturer with a capable and versatile additive manufacturing facility could simply make the 3D models and print the needed parts in a few days. Here was a way to boost local industry and improve regional economies and thereby the global economy.
The question was: Why was the use of additive manufacturing in industry so limited? Many, many industries and manufacturers had not connected the dots.
However, there were legitimate reasons for this lack of adoption. A 2022 study by
McKinsey & Co
confirms what the group this new technology had already discovered.
The problems with existing thermoplastics additive manufacturing could be summed up as:
- Limited choice of materials.
- Problems with quality.
- Product size limitations.
- High costs.
- Lack of the necessary services to support production.
resolving limitations
The team systematically set about resolving these limitations one by one so that
the new deep technology and business model they developed would overcome all these obstacles and
put thermoplastics-based additive manufacturing firmly in the mainstream of industry where it was
very much needed.
AnyForm Technologies was granted the exclusive licenses to distribute the AnyForm
Factory and AnyForm 3Dware throughout North America. We adopted a 4-prong approach to bringing
thermoplastics-based additive manufacturing from a niche technology to a key element of mainstream
production. The components form an ecosystem which is needed for widespread adoption of this
technology.
1.Our proprietary technology platform
2. Our revolutionary 3D printing system
3. Our partnerships and licensing division
4. Our full-service, outsourced additive manufacturing arm
With these 4 components we envision a significant move towards the use of thermoplastics-based additive manufacturing as a mainstream element in North American industry and the solution of many of the existing supply chain problems, with a consequent improvement in industry and the economy as a whole.
